Da ne bananiramo previše evo što kaže Adobe:
PDFWriter and Acrobat Distiller are printer drivers installed by Acrobat for converting documents to PDF files. PDFMaker is a macro for Microsoft Office products installed by Acrobat. It allows bookmarks, links, etc. to be transferred from the Office document into the PDF file. Below is a chart showing different reasons one may use PDFWriter or Distiller.
Use PDFWriter if you:
- have simple documents containing little or no graphics
- have documents that do not contain EPS graphics
- want to add a Create PDF macro to applications that use macros
- do not want to install a PostScript printer driver on your system
- have limited amounts of RAM
- want to produce large amounts of PDF documents quickly
Use Distiller if you:
- have desktop publishing documents (i.e. PageMaker, FrameMaker, Xpress, etc.)
- have documents containing EPS graphics
- have documents containing images in which you need precise control over compression and down-sampling options
- have documents containing PostScript features that you need to maintain in the PDF document
- send documents to prepress or service bureaus for high-end publishing
- have documents you would like to batch process
- obtain unsatisfactory results from PDFWriter.
To install PDFWriter in Acrobat 5x, you must do a custom install. With Acrobat 4x and above, Distiller is highly recommended for almost any workflow as it is far more advanced than PDFWriter and uses PostScript, whereas PDFWriter does not.
Eto, mislim da je izlišno bilo što dodavati.
